Afromosia´s appearences

Afromosia is known for its beautiful colorful color. Heartwood is dark Afromosia orange brown to brown or fawn color. Sapwood is a narrow, creamy brown, lighter in color and clearly defined from the wood core.

 

Afromosia´s properties

Afromosia wood is dense and is very resistant to insect attack. This tree species is also widely used as indoor and outdoors. Afromosia contains tannins (tannins), a substance that protects against decay but also can change the color of wood, particularly if contact with moisture, such as when used in water engineering. This kind of wood sawdust can cause eye irritation. Afromosia dries slowly and after drying is a very stable floor. Afromosia has a high flexural strength and high resistance to wear. During a process called "steaming wood", is prone to distortion. Afromosia is working well and even hand tools. Floors Afromosia very well tolerated glue. Wood Afromosia closely similar to teak wood, sometimes also called African Teak.

 

Afromosia´s workability

Heavy, hard and dense wood Afromosia in many technical characteristics similar to teak, very well machined, unlike teak can be glued as well.
